Just hours after delivering a mostly positive State of the Schools speech, Cincinnati Public Schools Superintendent Mary Ronan sat down with 9 News as part of a live interview in conjunction with the WCPO's School Zone 9 special.

Ronan unveiled Thursday morning that according to preliminary numbers, of the eight grade levels that are tested by the State of Ohio, improvement was seen on every level. On average, scores were up by 5 percent, with some levels seeing improvement as high as 10 percent.

Ronan also said two low performing schools have moved out of No Child Left Behind status. Three years ago, CPS had 14 schools in academic emergency, but now has three in the same standing.

Ronan also stated the GE Aviation is teaming up with CPS by offering more than $5 million to further math and science education.

Ronan talked about some of those topics and others during her interview with 9 News. Click the player to see what she had to say.
